SRA 45th Annual General Meeting

SRA’s 45th Annual General Meeting kicked off with our President, Mr Ernie Koh, reporting on the significant events organised by SRA in FY 2022 . He also shared SRA’s Roadmap 2025 – co-designed by the SRA Council and over 60 retail stakeholders – which is aligned to the Retail ITM 2025 and will act as a framework for the Association to guide retailers in their business transformation journey and help bring about a dynamic and sustainable retail sector. Mr Anson Bailey, Head of Consumer & Retail, ASPAC, KPMG, gave an insightful presentation on the Global + Regional Consumer & Retail Trends (Check the presentation deck here) where he assured that physical retail back! However, to succeed, retailers must accelerate in their digital transformation & be omnichannel; respond swiftly to the rise of the Gen Zs and their thirst for value-driven consumption; know your customers well & follow their journey; keep your employees (internal customers!) happy; embrace collaboration and mostly, be agile.

A robust panel discussion, involving retailer veterans, Mr Pang Kim Hin, Mr Ernie Koh and Ms Pamela Loo, gave insights on the common challenges they faced in their respective trade categories – responding swiftly to the changing retail landscape; understand the evolving preferences of its customers & meet their expectations; keeping up with the pace of digital technology advancements; coping with supply chain disruptions, inflation and rising business costs and most importantly attracting & retaining workers in the retail sector. The networking continued during our Happy Hours with free flow of food, wine & beer!

Special thanks to our Council and SRA members for making time to join us at the AGM, and a note of sincere appreciation to Anson & our panelists for the great sharing! Do follow SRA & join us in our upcoming events !
