AlphaBeta Survey: Understand MSMEs’ Usage, Export Behaviour And Key Barriers Faced In Exporting Via E-commerce

July 30, 2021

We are excited to share that we are supporting a study led by AlphaBeta, a strategy and economics consulting firm, on the B2C e-commerce export opportunity for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Singapore.

The study aims to understand the size of this opportunity for MSMEs in Singapore, and develop policy recommendations to maximize this opportunity.

The objective is to develop a public report that will contain findings on the opportunities and challenges faced by MSMEs to seizing the B2C e-commerce export opportunity, and develop important policy recommendations to help companies do so. These recommendations will be used to engage government agencies, which are also involved in this study.

As this study also includes Thailand and Vietnam, the insights will be important not just for Singapore, but also the ASEAN region. As part of this study, a survey is being conducted to understand MSMEs’ usage of e-commerce, their e-commerce export behaviour, and key barriers faced in exporting via e-commerce. SRA would like to invite members that meet the MSME definition in Singapore (i.e., companies which earn an annual revenue of SGD 100 million or less, or employ 200 or less employees, as defined by the Department of Statistics), and who use B2C e-commerce to sell their goods/services, to participate in this 15-minute survey.

Your survey responses will be valuable to this research, and potentially shape future policies and initiatives that can facilitate your company’s access to overseas markets via e-commerce. As such, your participation is greatly appreciated.

This survey will run from 21 July to 4 August 2021. Please access the survey link here: LINK TO SURVEY
