The JSS for Retail sector will go a long way to helping keep retail jobs intact during this very challenging period. The government’s 2-week rental support to be mandatorily matched by commercial landlords equivalent to 2 weeks is indeed a huge relief for retailers! Not only will it help to cushion the impact of the tightened restrictions which have severely impacted sales, it will also enable retailers to invest more effort to think about and relook their business strategy than to spend time going back and forth appealing to landlords for rental assistance.

SRA hope all landlords will also go the extra mile and extend further support to tenants who need more financial help, and even non-SMEs who are struggling as they will not benefit from these support measures announced.
